The families on this list of the top 10 richest families in Africa,have worked their way to becoming one of the richest families in Africa. This families have amassed enormous fortunes either through businesses, religion or politics.

10) THE BEKKER FAMILY (SOUTH AFRICA) – $3 BILLION.

The Dos Santos family is the richest family in Angola, Jose Eduardo Santos born 28 August 1942,is an Angolan politician who served as the president of Angola from 1979 to 2017.
As president, Jose Eduardo Santos, was also the commander-in-chief of the Angolan arm forces (FAA),and the president of the People’s movement for the liberation of Angola (MPLA),the party that has ruled Angola since its independence in 1975.

Michael Adeniyi Adenuga junior (GCON),is a Nigerian billionaire businessman and the second richest person in Africa, his company Globacom,is Nigeria’s second largest Telecommunication operator, which has its presence in Ghana and Benin,he owns a stake in Equatorial trust Bank and oil exploration firm ConOil,Mike Adenuga who was once a humble Taxi driver in the United States, today sit on a multi-billion dollar Nigerian corporation, with his net worth at about $7.3 billion according to Forbes magazine. Mike Adenuga is also Nigeria’s second richest man.
The self made billionaire made his first million at the age of 26,while selling lex and distributing CocaCola.

Dangote came from a rich family, his great grand father was a very rich and wealthy man before his death,because of Dangote’s success, most of his family members have been able to establish successful businesses.
Not much is heard about the heirs to the Dangote group, but its between his three daughters Halima Bello Dangote,Maria Dangote,Fatima Dangote and his adopted son Abdulrahman Fasasi.
