English premier league giants Chelsea officially confirm the arrival of $60m French international, who is now the clubs first summer signing.
The London giants are reportedly confident of agreeing on a transfer deal for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde this summer for a fee of nearly €60m. The Blues are looking at France international as an option to bolster at the defence, and it could be that Sevilla will have to cash in on the player due to their financial struggles.
Kounde has shone in La Liga and looks like he could be set to make the step up to a bigger club, with Man United also recently linked with him. Jules looks like he’d strengthen both Chelsea and Man United, and could be a fine long-term signing due to being a promising young player with his best years surely still ahead of him.
Both Chelsea and Man United will want to mount a stronger PL title challenge next campaign, and the 22-year-old winger could be an important part of that.
At Old Trafford, the French forward would surely be an upgrade on Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, while at Stamford Bridge he’d surely be the perfect long-term replacement for veteran defender Thiago Silva.
Chelsea have been superb since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager at London club, and Haaland could be the next piece of the puzzle for the club as they look to establish themselves as more serious Premier League title contenders.
