Chelsea considering South American super star ahead of transfer window closure today.
Pepe is the subject of interest from Chelsea over a
potential move in the ongoing transfer window. Porto
will only part ways with the 25-year-old attacker if a
suitor triggers his release clause, worth €70m. The
Brazilian attacker spent his formative years in his
homeland before graduating from the academy of his
hometown club Foz de Iguacu.
But the Brazilian’s stock rose when he joined Gremio
half a dozen years ago. And after five productive years
with the Brazilian club, the South American attacker
arrived in Europe when he joined the Dragons last
Pepe was slow off the blocks at Porto, but he has
raised his performance levels since Luis Diaz’s move
to Liverpool in January. And Pepe has been decent at
the onset of the 2022/23 campaign, providing one
assist in four matches thus far. His progress has not
gone unnoticed either, with the Blues showing interest
Chelsea have been active in the market this summer
but are yet to strengthen their squad to the German
manager’s liking. Sterling has reinforced Chelsea’s
offensive unit following his big-money move from Man
City. But with Pulisic and Ziyech facing uncertain
futures at Chelsea, the Blues will need to sign another

Pepe has thus popped up on Chelsea’s radar as a
viable candidate to strengthen the Blues’ offensive
unit. But Pepe will not come cheap, with Porto pointing
towards his release clause, worth €70m, to part ways
with the attacker.
